I’m crying because when my dad was eighteen he was going to join the airforce and then the night before he had a dream that Jesus slapped him in the face with a gigantic fish and asked him what he was doing and he woke up and thought, “Jesus is right what am I doing?” And that’s why my dad did not join the military.
See, that requires me not not actually being struggling to survive.
I may not be fighting for my life in the wilderness or dealing with true poverty and undrinkable water in an African desert, but the reality is that postcapitalism creates its own unique survival conditions, which are just as harsh on the mind and body. Humans evolved to live in caves as hunter-gatherers. We did not evolve for whatever the hell this is. And any animal that spends it's entire life in an hostile environment it is not evolved to cope with is going to be placed under undue stress, regardless of the modern amenities a available to it.
